All seniors - FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) opened online December 31, 2023, – all seniors planning to search for scholarships/attend college must complete this form. (Seniors and parents must create an FSA ID beforehand.) Financial Literacy session (FAFSA) Polk State College, Winter Haven campus 3/28, 5-7 pm, WLR-235


Requests for official transcripts should be submitted in a timely manner. Your transcript request includes the mailing address that colleges will use in communicating with you. IMPORTANT: make sure your social security number is correct A-L - Mrs. Rozario, M-Z - Mrs. Lester, Cambridge - Mrs. Reineke.


Recommendations for employment, college admissions, scholarships and other awards should be requested well in advance (2-3 weeks) of application deadlines. You should provide a complete resume to each person completing a recommendation. See Mrs. Bachman if you need help in preparing the resume. Depending on specific requirements, you should request recommendations from people who know you best. Sending a note of thanks is appropriate.


Information regarding NCAA may be obtained on their website. Students are responsible for registering on-line. See Ms. Johnson Room 35-122 with questions.

CAUTION: There are several companies/organizations that charge a fee for researching scholarships. This information is available for free. You should not have to pay for this and should be suspicious of the service being offered.
